This page explains what information Mek It SEO collects from visitors to mekitseo.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We are a local SEO agency based at 6, Jahangir Market (Ground Floor), Dhaka Trunk Road, Near PBI, Pahartali, Chattogram – 4202, Bangladesh. If you have questions about anything here, email us at admin@mekitseo.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you fill out our contact form
Our form asks for your name, business name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, website URL, the service you’re interested in, and whatever message you choose to write. Only the name and email are required. Everything else is optional, and leaving fields blank won’t stop your message from reaching us.
When you book a call
Our “Book a Meeting” button sends you to Calendly, which is a separate service with its own privacy policy. Anything you enter there is handled by Calendly, not by us. We receive your name, email, and the time you picked.
When you simply visit
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps. This is automatic and applies to every website. We also use analytics tools to see which pages people read and how they found us. This data is aggregated; we’re looking at patterns, not individuals.
Cookies
We use cookies for two things: keeping the site working properly, and analytics. You’ll see a cookie notice when you first arrive, and you can decline the non-essential ones. Declining won’t break anything.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
To reply to you. That’s the main reason.
If you ask for a free audit, we use your business name and website to look up your Google Business Profile and check your rankings. We can’t do that without the information.
We also use analytics to understand which of our articles people actually find useful, so we can write more of those.
WHAT WE DON’T DO
We don’t sell your information. We don’t rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers.
We don’t add you to a mailing list because you filled out a contact form. If we ever start a newsletter, you’ll have to opt in deliberately.
We don’t send follow-up emails after a free audit unless you ask us to. We said that on our contact page and we mean it.
WHO ELSE SEES YOUR DATA
A few services handle parts of our operation, and your information passes through them:
- Hostinger — hosts our website and email
- Google — analytics and search performance data
- Calendly — if you book a call through our site
Each of these has its own privacy policy. We’ve chosen providers that are widely used and take data protection seriously, but we can’t control what they do internally.
We may also disclose information if a court or law enforcement agency legally requires it. This has never happened, and we’d tell you if it did unless legally prevented from doing so.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Contact form submissions stay in our email and in the WordPress database. We keep enquiries that turn into client work for as long as the working relationship lasts, plus a reasonable period afterwards for our records.
Enquiries that go nowhere get cleared out periodically. If you want your message deleted sooner, email us and we’ll do it.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information entirely
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
Email admin@mekitseo.com and we’ll respond within a few days. We won’t ask you to justify the request.
If you’re in the UK or EU, the GDPR gives you these rights formally. If you’re in California, the CCPA does something similar. We apply the same standard to everyone regardless of where you live, because it’s simpler and fairer.
SECURITY
Our site runs over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. Our email is protected with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
No system is perfectly secure, and anyone claiming otherwise is overselling. If a breach ever affected your data, we’d tell you.
CHILDREN
This site is for business owners. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we add a tool that collects data differently, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Substantial changes will be noted clearly rather than slipped in quietly.
