Terms of Service
Last updated: September 13, 2026
These terms cover your use of mekitseo.com and any work we do together. We’ve written them in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because you should be able to read them once and know where you stand.
Mek It SEO is a local SEO agency based at 6, Jahangir Market (Ground Floor), Dhaka Trunk Road, Near PBI, Pahartali, Chattogram – 4202, Bangladesh. Throughout this page, “we” and “us” mean Mek It SEO. “You” means whoever is reading the site or hiring us.
If something here doesn’t sit right with you, email admin@mekitseo.com before we start work, not after.
Using This Website
You’re welcome to read anything on this site, share links to it, and quote from it with attribution. What you shouldn’t do is scrape it wholesale, republish our articles as your own, or try to break into parts of the site that aren’t public.
We keep the site accurate, but SEO changes fast. An article we published in June might describe a Google feature that worked differently by September. Treat our blog as informed opinion at the time of writing, not as a guarantee that something still works that way today.
The Free Audit
The audit we offer through our contact form is genuinely free and there’s no obligation attached to it. Here’s what it actually is: we look up your Google Business Profile, check how you’re showing up in Maps for the searches that matter to your business, and tell you what we find.
Here’s what it isn’t. It’s not a full technical site audit, it’s not a written report running to thirty pages, and it’s not a commitment from us to take you on as a client. If your situation needs more than a quick look, we’ll say so and quote you for the real thing.
We said on our contact page that we don’t chase you with follow-up calls unless you ask, and we mean that. Requesting an audit doesn’t put you on a call list.
Paid Work
Scope. Before any paid work starts, we’ll agree in writing — usually email or WhatsApp — what we’re doing, what it costs, and roughly how long it takes. That agreement sits alongside these terms. If the two ever conflict, the specific agreement wins.
Changes. If you want to add work partway through a project, that’s fine, but it may change the price and the timeline. We’ll tell you before we do it, not after.
Payment. Payment terms go in the written agreement. As a general rule we ask for a deposit before starting and the balance on completion, or monthly in advance for ongoing retainers. If an invoice goes unpaid for more than 30 days, we may pause work until it’s settled.
Refunds. For one-off projects, once work has started the deposit isn’t refundable — the time is already spent. For monthly retainers, you can cancel with 30 days’ notice and we won’t bill you beyond that period.
What We Can and Can’t Promise
This section matters more than any other on this page, so read it properly.
We can promise that we’ll do the work competently, that we’ll use methods that comply with Google’s guidelines, and that we’ll tell you honestly how things are going, including when they’re going badly.
We cannot promise specific rankings, specific positions in the Local Pack, a specific volume of calls or leads, or a specific revenue figure. Nobody can. Google’s ranking systems are not published, they change constantly, and your competitors are working on their own visibility at the same time. Any agency that guarantees you the number one spot is either misunderstanding how search works or hoping you do.
What we do instead is set realistic expectations at the start, show you what’s changed with real data, and adjust when something isn’t working.
One thing worth understanding up front: Google Maps and Local Pack results depend on your business having a verified address in the area you want to appear in. If you want to show up in a city where you have no physical presence, that’s a limit of Google’s system, not a limit of our work, and no amount of optimization gets around it. We’ll be straight with you about this before you pay us anything.
What We Need From You
SEO work stalls without client input more often than for any other reason. To keep things moving, we need:
1. Access to the accounts we’re working on — Google Business Profile, your website, analytics, whatever the job requires
2. Accurate information about your business: real address, real hours, real service areas, real contact details
3. Responses to our questions within a reasonable time, especially when we’re waiting on approval to publish something
4. Honesty about anything that’s been done to your site or listing before, including work by a previous agency
That last one is important. If a previous provider built spam links or created duplicate listings, we need to know. We can usually clean it up, but not if we find out three months in.
You’re responsible for the accuracy of anything you give us. If you tell us your business address is somewhere it isn’t, and the listing gets suspended, that’s not something we can fix or refund.
Third-Party Platforms
A lot of what we do happens on platforms we don’t control — Google Business Profile, Google Search, Bing Places, directory and citation sites, review platforms. These companies change their rules, their features, and their algorithms whenever they like, and they don’t ask us first.
If Google suspends your listing, changes how the Local Pack works, or removes a feature we were using, we’ll help you deal with it. But we’re not liable for decisions those platforms make.
Who Owns What
Work we create specifically for you — page content, optimized listings, citation profiles, reports — belongs to you once you’ve paid for it in full. It’s yours to keep, and it stays yours if we stop working together.
What stays ours: our own methods, templates, internal tools, checklists, and anything we built before working with you or use across multiple clients. You’re hiring the output, not the toolkit.
Accounts stay in your name. Your Google Business Profile, your website, your analytics — we work inside them with access you grant us, and that access can be revoked any time. We don’t hold client assets hostage.
Confidentiality
Anything you tell us about your business that isn’t public — revenue figures, strategy, customer information, whatever comes up — stays between us. We won’t repeat it to other clients and we won’t use it in marketing.
If we’d like to mention that we worked with you, or use your results in a case study, we’ll ask first and accept no as an answer.
Ending the Relationship
Either of us can end things. For monthly work, 30 days’ notice from either side. For project work, you can stop at any point, and you pay for what’s been completed up to that point.
We may end an engagement early if a client asks us to do something against Google’s guidelines, repeatedly misses payments, or becomes abusive toward our team. We’d rather refund an unused month than continue in any of those situations.
However it ends, we’ll hand over access and any deliverables you’ve paid for.
Limitation of Liability
If something goes wrong and we’re at fault, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. We’re not liable for indirect losses — lost profits, lost opportunities, or knock-on business effects.
This isn’t us dodging responsibility. If we make a mistake, we’ll fix it, and we’ll usually fix it without being asked. But an SEO engagement worth a few hundred dollars can’t carry unlimited financial risk, and no agency operates that way.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Chattogram.
That said, we’d much rather sort out a problem with a phone call. In the time we’ve been doing this, nothing has ever needed a lawyer, and we’d like to keep it that way.
Changes to These Terms
We may update this page as our services change. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If you’re an active client and we change something that affects your engagement, we’ll email you about it rather than expecting you to notice.
